HANOI, Vietnam – October 21, 2022
AIP Foundation is proud to accelerate the purpose-driven movement championing mobility equality to positively impact our society. In this spirit, we celebrate the successful completion of the regional Heads Up! campaign. In cooperation with the FIA Foundation and FIA Region II (Asia Pacific), AIP Foundation and AA Vietnam hosted a closing workshop to share the achievements of the campaign and the lessons learned.
A celebratory workshop to discuss lessons learned:
The objectives of the workshop were to share information, knowledge, and tools around the design and implementation of a regional Public Service Advertising (PSA) competition as well as a public awareness campaign targeting the young generation and how to get them involved and committed to supporting their local communities. It further served as a platform to discuss and disseminate innovations and good practices around helmet safety programs and campaigns at local, regional, and global levels.
‘Keep it in your head’ – the Heads Up! competition winner:
In August, the regional video competition came to a conclusion. Since then, the winning team of Fifty Five Productions from the Philippines has been working hard with the creative agency team to create the final product: a PSA video that will serve as a global public awareness campaign led by our young generation, where the young’s voices will be heard the loudest!

During the closing workshop, we were delighted to welcome the team members of Fifty-Five Productions (the winning team). Dionne Patrisha B. Calosa, Blessilda Marie C. Sitoy, Kyle Dexter U. Millave, and John Christian B. Vicente. The four young and talented leaders created a gentle and emotional video that highlights the profound message about the importance of using quality helmets. The video is also a voice of the young generation who speak up, and take the lead for the development of their communities.
A regional helmet safety project empowering youth
The Heads Up! project invited university students to take center stage by participating in a regional video competition to design effective communication campaigns, raising awareness for their peers and general road users of the life-saving importance of helmet safety. Around the world, helmets are a uniquely affordable and effective protection against head injuries on the road. Wearing a quality helmet can reduce the risk of death by 42% and the risk of serious brain injury by 69%.
