Walk Wise, a road safety program focusing on a mountainous region in China, wrapped up its fifth year and consultants conducted a final evaluation of the initiative’s activities. Throughout its tenure, the program has worked with more than 80 schools in Kaizhou District. During the recent evaluation, students from intervention schools and one control school participated in focus groups and completed questionnaires. The team of consultants also conducted video observations in the school zones, and held focus groups with teachers, parents, and school leaders.
AIP Foundation teamed up with Chevron in 2012 to launch Walk Wise. Since its inception, the program has worked with more than 120,000 students, trained more than 1,500 teachers, and collaborated with more than 260,000 parents and community members.
