Progress continues towards the establishment of Bangkok’s first pilot safe speed zone

Thailand Country Manager Oratai Junsuwanarak met with Pol. Maj. Gen. Jirapat Phumjit, Deputy Chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB), to follow up on the establishment of the first pilot safe speed zone in Bangkok’s Bang Sue District. Pol. Maj. Gen. Jirapat Phumjit confirmed his commitment to the new speed rules for the pilot zone and asked the team to submit all relevant documents in order to inform the lawmaking process. The pilot safe speed zone is expected to be completed within the next two months.

The meeting was part of AIP Foundation’s ongoing campaign, Slow Down to Save Lives, and Legal Development Program’s (LDP) efforts to improve road safety legislation in Thailand.
