Student representatives from the YARS program speak with local community members about road safety during Cambodia’s Water Festival.

Members of the Youth Ambassadors for Road Safety (YARS) program in Siem Reap promoted safe road behaviors for road users during Bon Om Touk, or the Cambodian Water Festival. The Water Festival is an important national holiday taking place over three days, but it is also known as one of the deadliest times in Cambodia in terms of road crashes. Every year, the increased travel across provinces, within Phnom Penh, and along main roads during this holiday period results in a rise in road crash fatalities.
