Commune Road Safety Committee members and Police in Kandal Province share vital helmet safety information with the community

As part of the Third UN Global Road Safety Week, AIP Foundation’s Behavior Change Communications component under the “Head Safe. Helmet On.” project is conducting street-based activities in all 6 target districts. In each district, AIP Foundation is supporting 5 district Police and 10 Commune Road Safety Committee members from each commune to implement activities. Police stop motorcyclists with un-helmeted passengers and committee members and educate drivers on the importance of helmets while providing them with educational flyers.

These outreach efforts include discussing the motorcycle passenger helmet law, fines, the importance of helmet wearing, and Cambodia’s road crash situation. Additionally, the project provides subsidized helmets to motorcycle passengers who reside in target communes.
