AIP Foundation President and Founder Greig Craft attended ‘Road Safety for Sustainable Cities: A Multi-stakeholder Conference’ held in Manila, where he presented on the Global Helmet Vaccine Initiative (GHVI) and our role in establishing and assisting with implementation of the initiative across Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Uganda, and Tanzania. The conference was organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the International Training Center for Authorities and Leaders in the Phillipines (CIFAL Phillipines), and the University of the Philippines.

It brought together 150 participants from UNITAR’s international partners, national and local government agencies, the private sector, media, and youth, among others, in order to discuss the issues, challenges, and opportunities in strengthening road safety in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region.

The conference focused on three key themes: road safety legislation and regulation, road and transport infrastructure, and citizen responsibility and leadership in road safety. The conference also sought to increase engagement among road safety stakeholders, especially with innovative technological industries and research institutions. The ultimate goal of the conference is to produce a document that outlines the risk factors, interventions, and best practices in road safety in the region.
