Thanks to the continued support from The UPS Foundation, AIP Foundation’s Helmets for Kids program will continue to donate helmets and road safety education to students of the Ban Makkhang and Nong Sumrong Wittaya Schools in Udon Thani for a second year. This additional year of funding will allow the many new students at the schools to receive helmets and important road safety education.

The second year activities will commence in February 2014 with a road safety day event at each school.  AIP Foundation staff spent three days in Udon Thani to plan the road safety days and solidify the informal road safety network in Udon Thani. AIP Foundation conducted focus group discussions with students and teachers at the schools, who provided many useful insights and ideas for the events.  AIP Foundation also met with key stakeholders to discuss their involvement during the road safety days, including the Deputy Governor of Udon Thani province, Chief Executive of the Provincial Administrative Organization, the Royal Thai Police, Department of Land Transport, Office of the Basic Education Commission, Road Accident Victims Protection Company Limited, and Nat Motor Sales. Many of these organizations had previously supported the first year of the Helmets for Kids program and AIP Foundation is looking forward to working with them again in 2014.
