On 4-6 September, the 2024 FIA Region II Roundtable gathered FIA Members and delegates from across Asia Pacific in Cebu City to address the mobility challenges and opportunities in the region. This year, the event was hosted by the Automobile Association Philippines and brought together more than 70 delegates from 16 Clubs.
Greig Craft, FIA Region II President and Founder and President of AIP Foundation, shared, “We always look forward to welcoming all regions of FIA to our mobility conference here in the Philippines. These meetings are an essential part of our efforts to connect, drive change, and foster collaboration within our community.”
The three-day event consisted of meetings and workshops, including on themes such as helmet-wearing and tourism, and presentations on new research, supported by Frost and Sullivan and the FIA Foundation. This was also the first time that the Conference agenda included motor sport sessions (member clubs with both Mobility and Motor Sport capabilities were taking part in the event).
Delegates were also invited to hear presentations on creative business projects from 2024 FIA Innovation Challenge finalists. Hon T. Bella Dinh-Zarr, PhD, MPH, who serves on the AIP Foundation Board of Advisors, gave an inspiring keynote presentation on “Harnessing the superpowers of Clubs for Good.”
The FIA delegates from Asia Pacific will have the opportunity to meet again at the upcoming FIA’s Annual General Assemblies in Kigali, Rwanda in December 2024.
