KAMPALA, Uganda - May 20, 2014

The Uganda Helmet Vaccine Initiative launched a series of helmet safety radio commercials to be aired across Kampala.  Local music artist Bobi Wine is featured in the commercials, urging motorcycle riders to always wear their helmet: “It’s a good thing to be alive, my friend! So be wise, wear a helmet.” The radio commercials are part of a larger helmet campaign in Kampala titled “Obulamu Bwe Bugagga (Your Life is Your Wealth) – Wear a Helmet!” Sponsored by CrossRoads and supported by UK AID, the radio commercials will air throughout the city for thirteen weeks.
