On September 11, 2026, the House Standing Committee on Transport, in collaboration with Mahavajiravudh School in Songkhla Province, organized a road safety seminar under the theme “Safe Driving and Traffic Discipline: Thai Youth Wearing Safety Helmets 100%.”
Held at the Prem 100th Anniversary Auditorium at Mahavajiravudh School, the seminar brought together representatives from the transportation sector, law enforcement, road safety organizations, the private sector, educators and students to promote safer driving, stronger traffic discipline and consistent helmet use among young people.

Participants take notes on seminar presentations.
The seminar was presided over by Mr. Nikorn Chamnong, Member and Advisor to the House Standing Committee on Transport and Chairman of the People's Safety Foundation.
The program covered a range of road safety topics, including traffic laws and their consequences, traffic discipline, motorcycle safety, crash prevention and the importance of using protective equipment. Representatives from the Songkhla Provincial Police and Songkhla Provincial Transport Office also provided information on legal requirements, preparing for a driver's license, and the rights and responsibilities of road users.
Participants were also introduced to the Safe System approach to road safety, highlighting the shared responsibility of governments, institutions, communities, road users and other stakeholders in preventing deaths and serious injuries on the road.
As part of the seminar, Kandharmanee Nippanchai, Senior Program Consultant at AIP Foundation, presented AIP Foundation’s road safety work, including the Safe Helmets for Asia-Pacific initiative, the Safeguard program, and the Chevron Street Wise program, demonstrating how these initiatives contribute to the Safe System approach.
Emphasizing that a Safe System requires action from every sector, Kandharmanee encouraged students to consider how they can contribute to safer roads starting within their own school community. During a two-hour interactive session, students worked in groups to explore the Safe System approach, develop their own road safety projects and present their ideas.
The seminar also featured a presentation from Thai Honda Co., Ltd. on safe motorcycle riding, crash avoidance and the use of protective equipment. A dedicated session on “100% of Thai Youth Wear Helmets” reinforced the importance of making helmet use a consistent habit among young motorcycle riders.
The event concluded with a ceremony presenting standard helmets and certificates to student representatives, underscoring the importance of turning road safety knowledge into safer everyday behavior.
By bringing together policymakers, road safety stakeholders, educators and young people, the seminar provided a platform for strengthening awareness, encouraging traffic discipline and empowering Thailand’s next generation of road users to play an active role in creating a safer road system.
