AIP Foundation is pleased to announce the official appointment of Ratanawadee H. Winther, Chairperson of AIP Foundation Thailand and Denmark, to the subcommittee for Coordination, Management, Promotion, and Public Relations regarding the Prevention and Reduction of Road Accidents, under the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Road Safety (PACTs) of Thailand. The subcommittee’s work focuses on strengthening coordination, management, and public engagement to reduce road accidents and save lives.
This subcommittee plays a vital role in advising on the improvement and enactment of policies and regulations to enhance road safety across Thailand. The official appointment follows an invitation extended to Ratanawadee H. Winther during the Thai Government Delegation’s visit to the FIA Foundation on 11 June 2025 in London, United Kingdom. Ratana’s nomination was confirmed during the PACTs general meeting on 28 July 2025, with the official appointment order (No. 6/2568) signed by the PACTs Chairman on 31 July 2025.
Overall, the subcommittee is responsible for coordinating and managing the operations of various working units focused on road accident prevention and safety promotion. This includes leading public relations campaigns to raise awareness and encourage public participation, conducting research on road safety issues, and reporting operational results to the main committee. It also works closely with international and regional partners, particularly in Asia, to share knowledge and best practices. In addition, the subcommittee supports the Committee for Prevention and Reduction of Road Accidents and Fatalities in its duties and undertakes any additional tasks as assigned.
A new Head of the committee will be appointed soon, following the tenure of the first Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Thai Parliament. To advance this important work, a meeting of the subcommittee will be convened at a later date this year. Originally scheduled for August, the meeting will outline strategies and collaborative actions to promote safer roads for all across Thailand.
