Empowering our next generation of young children and young adults, the brand new e-books, ‘Safe Road Use’, are launched as a part of theChevron Street Wiseprogram in Thailand. At the core of this program, all activities engage our youth to be a part of the solution to create safer road users. The Chevron Street Wiseprogram is inherently aligned with the Global Plan as part of the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021 – 2030 and Thailand’s National Road Safety plan.

To introduce the self-learning kits for both primary and secondary school students, an online training was held for 25 teachers thus becoming the master trainers to pass down their knowledge to students. The ‘Safe Road Use’ e-books provide an innovative and creative learning platform for students to learn lifelong road safety skills. For primary school teachers, the training focused on helmet and pedestrian safety. For secondary teachers, they focused on riding safety and regulations regarding driving licenses.

We were honored to welcome Police Lieutenant Colonel Choktawee Chanthong-on, Deputy Superintendent of Investigations at the Kho Hong Police Station as the facilitator during the training. He shared, “Our society has to hold hands firmly together to work on adjusting people’s behavior.”

Chevron Thailand has partnered with AIP Foundation since 2014 to implement theChevron Street Wiseprogram to create a safer environment for road users – especially young children – through education, awareness-raising, as well as stakeholder and community engagement. The project has benefited more than 30,000 children, parents, teachers, and community members who have demonstrated improved road safety knowledge and skills.
