At the Roads Management Workshop conducted by experts from the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the Singapore Land Transport Authority, Julie Chung, Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia spoke on behalf of the Embassy and mentioned AIP Foundation and USAID’s support in her remarks.
The workshop demonstrated the U.S. commitment to road safety in ASEAN and in her remarks she mentions, “Each year, traffic accidents in Cambodia kill nine times more people than malaria, dengue fever, HIV and AIDS, and landmines combined. That is why USAID is implementing a two year program on helmet safety in Cambodia with the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation aimed at preventing thousands of unnecessary road crash injuries and fatalities.”
