The Songkran (Thai New Year) holiday period is a particularly dangerous time on Thailand’s roads, with 321 dying in road traffic crashes during the 7 day holiday period in 2013.
In the lead-up to Songkran 2014, AIP Foundation joined two campaigns promoting road safety. On 10 April, AIP Foundation launched the “Drive Safely for Songkran 2014” campaign in partnership with The Imperial Queens Park Hotel Bangkok and the Royal Thai Police. AIP Foundation and Imperial Queens Park Hotel staff rode in a motorcycle parade through Bangkok to raise awareness of the need to drive safely during the holidays. That same day, AIP Foundation representatives also attended the launch of the Royal Thai Police’s Songkran campaign held at Dusit Palace.
AIP Foundation’s involvement in these campaigns continues its commitment to addressing road safety in Thailand.
