Under the Nghi Son Refinery & Petrochemical, LLC (NSRP) Traffic Safety Project, 3 driver safety training courses have been organized for community members in Tinh Gia District, Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam from December 7-21, 2014. More specifically, a training course will take place in the three target communes of Hai Thuong, Tan Truong and Mai Lam, reaching 360 motorcycle drivers in the community (120 per commune).
AIP Foundation is cooperating with Thanh Hoa Department of Transport and the Thanh Hoa Driver’s Testing and Training Center to conduct these driver safety training courses, which include both classroom-based and hands-on training. Trainees are informed of traffic laws, how to travel on the motorbike safely in economic and industrial zones, and are also provided with the opportunity to practice hands-on driving skills. After successfully completing the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and a free helmet.
The first of the three trainings took place on December 7 in Mai Lam Commune. The remaining trainings will take place on December 14 and December 21 in Hai Thuong and Tan Truong Communes, respectively.
