The second of three Helmets for Kids Kick Off ceremonies took place at Nam Ha Primary School in Ha Tinh province this week. The sponsor, Johnson & Johnson, has committed to donating a total of 11,000 helmets to 20 schools throughout Vietnam and funding the Helmets for Kids. The ceremony in Ha Tinh Province brought together 667 students and 48 teachers from Nam Ha Primary School, as well as representatives from the 8 other schools in Ha Tinh who will also be receiving this program: Vuong Loc 2, Xuan An 2, Dau Lieu, Trung Le, Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha 1, and Son Binh. Government members in attendance came from the National Traffic Safety Committee as well as provincial government offices. Finally, Johnson & Johnson representatives travelled to Ha Tinh to join the ceremony and meet the students.
One student spoke to Nguyen Thi Son Huong, Strategic Communications Manager of Janssen-Cilag Ltd. “This helmet is so nice!” said 5th grader Dang Thuy Tien. “It’s very comfortable to wear this lovely helmet.”
Next week, the final helmet donation celebration will take place in Dong Nai Province.
