HANOI, Vietnam – August 5, 2022
Helmets are a uniquely affordable and effective protection against head injuries on the road. Wearing a quality helmet can reduce the risk of death by 42% and the risk of serious brain injury by 69%. The FIA Foundation and FIA Region II (Asia Pacific), AIP Foundation, and AA Vietnam are hosting a virtual tour of the Protec Tropical Helmets Factory, a social enterprise in Vinh Phuc Province that produces the revolutionary new ECE 22 United Nations standard helmets.
How quality helmets are made:
The workshop’s objectives are to share information and updates on helmet production and quality helmets, including ECE 22 helmet production in Vietnam, and foster discussions around the various Asia Pacific regional stories in the field of quality helmet production. During the workshop, FIA Region II club members will get an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight, discovering the benefits, practicality and production of the ECE 22 standardized helmet.
Club members will learn more about the safe and affordable helmet initiative set forward by the FIA, which could prove to be a life-saving force in their countries. Participants from FIA Region II will have the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge-sharing network among FIA Region II clubs and those with international organizations in the field of road safety, including helmet safety.
