Empowering our next generation: School visits engage with learning communities in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thailand

July 8, 2024

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, Thailand – July 8-9, 2024

To kick-start the next phase of the Chevron Street Wise program, throughout July, the AIP Foundation Thailand team will be visiting the school sites and meeting with school and government officials to prepare for the program events later this year.

The team will also carry out observations to assess the safety risks at each school. These observations are the first step to delivering life-saving interventions to empower the next generation of young road users across the country. The objective of the school visits is for the AIP Foundation Thailand team to meet with school administrators and coordinate with the teachers to expand on details about the project and discuss upcoming activities and how to best engage their students.

More about the Chevron Street Wise program

AIP Foundation has been working to promote safe, equitable, and sustainable mobility in Songkhla and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces, Thailand, for 10 years with the Chevron Street Wise program. We are proud to work together with Chevron Thailand to reduce the number of road injuries and fatalities by 50% by 2030, as set out by the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030.

This year, the program will focus on aligning with the provincial government’s policy measures for schools, including helmet-wearing for all students, safe driving behavior, road safety education, and utilizing media to increase community awareness of road safety.
