HSHO Commune wide - 13 Nov
Representatives from target districts including commune council members, commune secretaries, school teachers, commune police, and private sectors meet to discuss project implementation of “Head Safe. Helmet On.”

Between 13 and 28 November 2014, AIP Foundation will organize the first round of six commune-wide meetings in its targeted district with the support of USAID’s Development Innovation Ventures (USAID-DIV) as part of the “Head Safe. Helmet On.” project. Each meeting is expected to attract approximately 45 representatives from a target district including commune council members, commune secretaries, school teachers, commune police, and private sectors located in relevant communes.

“Head Safe. Helmet On.” is a two-year project, supported by USAID-DIV and other organizations, to increase passenger helmet use in Cambodia. AIP Foundation aims to improve nationwide helmet wearing awareness through the project by providing school children and teachers with quality helmets and road safety education, developing public awareness campaigns, and advocating for the enforcement of a passenger helmet law.

The meetings intend to provide an opportunity for commune representatives to be introduced to and updated on the project; discuss and develop a localized road safety action plan which targets passenger including child helmet behavior change in their community. Additionally, the meetings aim to establish a Commune-Based Road Safety Working Group in all 18 target communes which will coordinate and implement vital activities on road safety and helmet use at the commune level.
