SONGKHLA, Thailand – April 19, 2024

To enhance road safety awareness, the Chevron Street Wise program staff established an exhibition booth at the 2024 Red Cross Fair in collaboration with the Songkhla Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office. The event took place from April 19 to 28, 2024, at Sa Bua, Laem Son On, Muang, Songkhla Province.

The initiative aims to highlight the importance of safe mobility while integrating elements of road safety skills. Through this collaboration, the Chevron Street Wise team and the Songkhla authorities aimed to leverage the platform of the Red Cross Fair to disseminate crucial information regarding safe mobility.

Central to the booth’s activities was the presence of the youth Road Safety Ambassadors from the Chevron Street Wise program, comprising secondary school students dedicated to championing safe road behaviors among their peers. The Ambassadors were excited to actively engage with fair attendees, offering informational sessions on helmet safety and advocating for safe pedestrian practices. The booth activities and presence were made possible with the support of the Department of Disaster Prevention & Mitigation (DDPM) and Chevron Thailand.

By involving youth ambassadors, the initiative not only imparts vital knowledge but also fosters a sense of community involvement in promoting road safety. The 2024 Red Cross Fair builds on the impactful contributions of this collaborative effort toward fostering a safer road environment in Songkhla Province for every student.
