AIP Foundation recently attended the Supporting Traffic Safety Information Systems of Countries in Southeast Asia Meeting in Bangkok held by the International Transport Forum and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific to learn from cross-sector stakeholders about their recent developments in Southeast Asia on road safety and linkages to global initiatives and processes.
The meeting was an opportunity for AIP Foundation to discuss 1) existing road safety conditions and initiatives in Southeast Asia, 2) the importance of road safety data and crash data systems for developing effective road safety policies, 3) the development of a Road Safety Observatory for Asia and the participation of Southeast Asian countries, and 4) Global initiatives, including the 3rd Ministerial Conference on Road Safety and the Global network for Road Safety Legislator, as well as the Regional Network for Southeast Asia. Consequently, AIP Foundation will be able to apply the traffic information systems and databases to solve road safety challenges and expand the potential of future partnerships and collaboration within Thailand.
