SONGKHLA Province, Thailand – August 3, 2024
In early August, the AIP Foundation Thailand team was delighted to attend the annual project information meeting with Chevron. In addition, key partners from other stakeholder organizations also attended the meeting including the Path2health Foundation, KitsD, Regional Observatory for Public – Songkhla, and the Prince of Songkhla University. The meeting took place at the Chevron office in Songkhla Province.
The objective of the meeting was to present the program achievements so far and to discuss the implementation and updates of the Chevron Street Wise program. This year, the program will focus on aligning with the provincial government’s policy measures for schools, including helmet-wearing for all students, safe driving behavior, road safety education, and utilizing media to increase community awareness of road safety. Upcoming activities include the launch of the road safety corner, road safety weeks, and the 10-year celebration workshop taking place in 2025.
AIP Foundation has been working to promote safe, equitable, and sustainable mobility in Songkhla and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces, Thailand, for 10 years with the Chevron Street Wise program. We are proud to work together with Chevron Thailand to reduce the number of road injuries and fatalities by 50% by 2030, as set out by the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030.
