MANDALUYONG CITY, Philippines – March 25, 2022

Last week at the 7th Global Meeting of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, Executive Director, Lotte Brondum proclaimed, “let it be the decade of action for NGOs.” In this spirit, we are proud to announce the expansion of the Safety Delivered program, supported by The UPS Foundation in the Philippines.

To kick-start, an orientation meeting took place today between AIP Foundation, the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), Mandaluyong Department of Education (DepED), and two new project schools: Highway Hills Integrated School and Eulogio Rodrigez Integrate School.

The objective was to officially meet with the local partners, introduce AIP Foundation, the new phase of the Safety Delivered program in the Philippines and discuss with DepED and the two schools about the upcoming program activities in 2022. Some of the key activities this year will be head size/helmet measurement training, teacher training, and helmet handover ceremonies at the schools.

Giang Trinh, AIP Foundation Program Manager for Safety Delivered in the Phillippines shared, “it was a true pleasure to meet our local government partners and the AAP today. Together, we will work towards the goals outlined in the Global Plan to reduce at least 50% of road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030 together with UPS and our partners, in Mandaluyong city.”

Safety Delivered is a program implemented by AIP Foundation to work with primary school students and motorcyclists in high-risk areas in India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam – by educating children and youth on safe driving skills as well as increasing helmet use among children.
